Parents and school administrators see coding as an essential skill for 21st century job preparation. Certainly the US is woefully short of these skills in what is the fastest growing white collar job category, but most teachers consider themselves to be “digital immigrants” and struggle with coding. The Linkbot is designed specifically for a standard classroom with a student to teacher ratio of 32 to 1. Our robots are manageable, parts won’t get lost in the carpet, and they are flexible enough for the advanced after-school project group. The Linkbot is being used in over 160 public schools in California and Denmark to teach programming during the school day. Linkbots are being used successfully as low as elementary school and as high as university research labs at UCD and MIT.

California just passed three bills that make coding a core subject in public high schools. Math teachers are increasingly being asked to teach programming as these courses now count towards graduation as a math subject. Linkbot Labs bottles the attention-grabbing quality of robotics into a click-through curriculum that any first year teacher can use. These lessons go beyond teaching the “concepts” of coding and dive into industry-standard programming languages like Python and C++. Linkbot Labs makes digital content a hands-on learning experience that correlates to the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. We have also partnered with C-STEM from UC Davis to implement A-G approved curriculum as a Math and an Elective in public high schools.
